Welcome to Post Truth Banana.
Assuming that I want to have a nice, healthy snack, and all my friends are also eating a nice healthy snack at work. It might be desirable to bring along a snack which is - the same, or consistent and acceptable to my friends. So, if all my friends like Bananas, which are a nice healthy snack, that is great. They are conveninent, easy, and yummy.
Unfortunately if I don't like Bananas, this creates a bit of a problem for me. I would like to have a banana to have a nice healthy snack, and to fit in with the archetypical snack which is now standard among my friends, but I don't like bananas. So it makes great sense for me to bring an apple, and to call it a post-truth-banana, that is to say, that it serves the purpose of a banana for me, in that it is also a nice healthy snack, and it is something I can eat at the same time, in a similar manner to the snack my friends are eating. Some people might say that an apple is not really a banana, and in some interpretations of the words, "apple", "banana" and "is" and "is not", this might be the case.
But in my interpretation of the 'truth' and 'is' and 'is not', I think that a post-truth banana is a very nice snack, indeed, for someone who does not like bananas, but wants a nice healthy snack.
And since it is easier to just say "post truth banana" instead of "Apple, substituted in the role of Banana, socially acceptable and peer-pressured context for a healthy snack that is a banana, or something that fairly closely resembles a banana, except for that fact that it does not really resemble a banana in terms of appearance but it does, more or less in terms of functional use in terms of snackage and nutrition when compared to say a bag of zesty Doritos or some other non-healthy non-fruit based snack food'.
Some people might even extrapolate from this and say that 'post truth' is a way of saying a very complex idea, in an exceptionally clear and concise way, except of course for the fact that it is very concise but possibly not so clear, unless you have already read and fully understood the non-concise explanation of whatever it is that the post-truthing is truthing.
Oh my.
Some people might even use similar logic, in order to make an assertion, such as "I believe there are 1.5 million people watching me right now" where they are including, for example, all the people who are physically there in the same general vicinity as you; as well as all the people who are not actually there but are rather watching via "remote television units" and observing you via "TV"; and also those people who are watching via unverifiable means including "Interwebs streaming FaceTube YouTweet Media Apparatus" and also of course, all the small little blue people, who are invisible and watch all of our every moves from this moment to the next, but cannot in fact be verifiably confirmed to be present, or absent, or watching, or not watching, any particular action or event at any given time, but given the non-zero infinite possibility that I believe they may exist, then I have to count them in my 1.5 million 'people' who might be watching me right now.
Wow!
This modern world, is a wonderful place.
